Senior School - Room 9

The new year five students of room nine have really made a great start to the year. They are settling down into the new rules and routines of the classroom and have great attitudes for learning.

Here’s what we have been doing so far: -

We have been learning about the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. We then created our own class treaty and signed our name to it.
This term we are covering Day 6 of creation when God created insects and mini beasts. We have begun researching about reptiles. We were then put into partners and got to choose a reptile to study. We will then record all our findings into a picture book and present it to the junior classes.
We have had our first session in the Life Education Caravan - we always enjoy these sessions and come out knowing a lot of things about our bodies.
For art we have been studying the life of Paul Klee and have begun to use his techniques of lines and colours to imitate our own artwork.

Athletics day is coming up-so we have been practicing our long jump, vortex and relays.

‘Ni hao!’ Mrs Liu comes in and takes us for Chinese lessons - she says that we have great pronunciation for the new words we are taught.
