This term we are studying creation on day 6. We will be looking at amphibians, reptiles, insects and mini beasts – focussing on the conservation of these creatures. We found out heaps of interesting facts about frogs and toads and soon we will be studying dinosaurs. We will pretend to travel back in time where we will find a dinosaur to study. We will present our findings to the class.

This term we have been so fortunate to have watched monarch butterflies emerge from their cocoons. We have had about 6 hatching in our class – it has been so amazing!!!

We also made a class treaty and we all signed it to say we would agree to all the rules we decided on to make our classroom a safe place. We said it reminded us of the Treaty of Waitangi.

We also have to stand up and tell the class all about ourselves and our family. That is a little scary for some of us but we know no one will laugh at us or tease us so we will give it a go.

We can’t wait for the Life-Ed van to arrive. It is such fun and we love seeing Harold again.

There are lots and lots more things we do in the classroom – maths, reading, written language, drama and PE.
